THE COMPANY
Icarus Theatre is one of Toronto's boldest, most talked-about and attended independent theatre companies. Since our beginnings in 2022, we've grown a reputation for creating exciting, high-quality, divisive plays that have earned us a loyal, broad and enthusiastic audience base that spans many generations of theatregoers.
Our priority is to program pieces that offer unique perspectives on modern issues, while facilitating an accessible, fun and enthusiastic environment.
THE PEOPLE

Anthony Goncharov
Anthony Goncharov is an Associate Producer at Coal Mine Theatre, a Founding Associate of The Vault Creation Lab, and (most importantly) Artistic Director of Icarus Theatre. He loves good theatre, a well-crafted performance, and when people get stoked about their art.
Outside of the theatre world, he likes Muay Thai, listening to metal, and rock climbing.

Emily Anne Corcoran
Emily is an actor (etc.) originally from a town called 'Paradise' (no, actually) in Newfoundland. She credits her ocean-side upbringing and the incredible artists of the island for giving her a great love of storytelling. Emily has a BFA in Acting from the UofA and a diploma in Stage & Screen from Memorial University. Selected theatre credits include Dawn in Lobby Hero (Icarus), Lady Anne in Richard iii, Helena/Hermia in Midsummer Night's Dream (Lodestar Theatre), and Blake in Leave of Absence (New Curtain Theatre). She has appeared for television on CBC, CityTV, Prime Original and A24.
She is most excited about the work she gets to do with many talented artists making (in her completely unbiased opinion) some pretty cool theatre/film.

Erik Richards
Erik Richards is a director, sound designer, playwright and production manager originally from Treaty Six who now calls Toronto home. In the past ten years, Erik has worked in theatre on a variety of projects from new Canadian works to established plays. His work has focused on themes of substance abuse, intergenerational trauma and the complexities and vulnerabilities of youth. In combination with these themes, a deep passion for design and world building has led Erik to the development of style based in curiosity, risk and creative imagery. For Icarus, Erik is thrilled to have been a part of creating the first full season of shows for Toronto audiences and cannot wait for everything else to come!
