THE COMPANY
GOALS:
• Generate high-quality, exciting and dynamic work.
• Without question, compensate artists to the utmost of our ability. Moreover, to give concrete offers to artists, and avoid vague profit-share offers or exposure-based enticements.
• Connect emerging artists with established professionals through the creative process.
• Uplift artists that are new to Toronto’s theatre industry, have seen little exposure, or have been off-contract for an extended period of time.
HISTORY:
Icarus Theatre was established in April 2022 by young artists hungry to make well crafted theatre. Since then, we have become one of the leading voices in Toronto's independent theatre scene by producing critically acclaimed plays, workshopping new works, and creating Toronto's most popular regular theatre event, the Dark Day Cabaret Series.
THE PEOPLE
Anthony Goncharov
Anthony Goncharov is an emerging producer, actor, director (and most importantly) founding Artistic Director of Icarus Theatre. He loves good theatre, a well-crafted performance, and when people get stoked about their art. He also works at Coal Mine Theatre, and loves every minute of it.

Outside of the theatre world, he likes Muay Thai, listening to metal, and rock climbing.
Connor Briggs
Connor graduated from Sheridan College with an Honours Bachelors in Music Theatre Performance in 2020 (fantastic year for wine, not for graduating into a collaborative arts industry). Still he buckled down and found success in the coming years.
He joined the Icarus team as Director of Development following his performance as Bill in the 2022 production of Lobby Hero, and has worked on many productions, including the Dark Day Cabaret Series, Fiji, and Constellations. Outside of Icarus, you can see him in the International Tour of Scooby Doo! And the Lost City of Gold! The Musical (Warner Bros.) as well as on TV for FOX, a good few commercials, and a bunch of short films!
Emily Anne Corcoran
Emily is an actor (etc.) originally from a town called 'Paradise' (no, actually) in Newfoundland. She credits her ocean-side upbringing and the incredible artists of the island for giving her a great love of storytelling. Emily has a BFA in Acting from the UofA and a diploma in Stage & Screen from Memorial University. Selected theatre credits include Dawn in Lobby Hero (Icarus), Lady Anne in Richard iii, Helena/Hermia in Midsummer Night's Dream (Lodestar Theatre), and Blake in Leave of Absence (New Curtain Theatre). She has appeared for television on CBC, CityTV, Prime Original and A24.

She is most excited about the work she gets to do with many talented artists making (in her completely unbiased opinion) some pretty cool theatre/film.
